305 vs 350. Same stroke, so a 350 block with a 305 crank makes a 350. Just get a 350. 305 has a 3.760 in bore 350 has a 4 in bore.

So i have a 1991 Chevy Caprice wagon which i put a 350 from a 93 Buick Roadmaster into. Items you will need. The 305 shares the same stroke as 350, but has a much smaller bore.

I have one in a 79 el camino, good highway runner. Someone who knows the previous owner came up to me and told me it had a 305 (he had run the casting numbers on it). The only other v8 putting out less was the 307 at 135hp(not counting the 265 or 2)the 350 will destroy the 305!!!Even the worse 350 truck motor will put out more the a 305.The 305 was one of chevys worse engines ever!!If you have a chance to get a 350 vs a 305get the 350.

THose are really rough estimates for bone stock mills. This engine was introduced to the Chevrolet as a small variant block in 1975. 350 are basically the same engine.

Don't use the short tube. The 305 heads have a smaller chamber, and smaller valves, not good for making power. You could build a totally economy 305 with a really mild cam, QJ carb for the tiny primaries, etc.

But, to get even more performance out of it, then you should find a throttle body off a 350- look under the hoods of all the pickups in the junkyards that are from around the same year as your Camaro so the throttle position sensor will plug right in. The 305 has a VERY small bore (like the original 55-56 265s), whereas the 307 has the same bore as a 2 (3.875). The difference is stroke of cylinders.

305 wouldn't be so bad. I yanked the ecu out of the buick and put it in my car with the engine. A 350 has a 3.48 length of stroke making and using 350 cubic inches of engine, stroked out it would be 3.75 per cylinder making your app a 3 cubic inch and much better volume of room for air/ fuel firing chamber.

And yet almost every boat you see is a 305. I was kinda getting to the end of it. But it can't tell you what crank and pistons the re-manufacturing house stuffed in it.

Is dustproof and water-resistant. The counterweights on the 305 crank are a bit lighter than a 350 crank, due to the smaller lighter pistons used in the 305. Theres no reason to start getting into strokers.

All you need is a oil pan and pickup tube, bolt the motor mounts to the frame and that moves the motor back 1 1/2 inches and you get more traction. The 350 and 305 are the same except for the bore and some other things, it will be just as easy to put the 350 in as the 305. Alot depends on how the motor was equipped such as carbed, injected, from CA, and so on.
